A Charleston man has been found unfit to stand trial for murder.

Joshua Fairchild was living in a house in Charleston with 50-year-old Cheleta Branch, who was stabbed to death and hidden inside the home. During a Wednesday hearing, the 26-year-old Fairchild was found unfit to stand trial. It's believed by the doctor who examined him that Fairchild will be fit to stand trial within a year.

Judge Mitchell Shick remanded Fairchild to the custody of the Illinois Department of Human Services for treatment. A status hearing was scheduled for November 22 to determine what progress Fairchild has made.
