Two Injured in Crash in Teutopolis on Saturday

Two people were injured in a crash in Teutopolis on Saturday afternoon.

Effingham County Sheriff's Department reports the crash occurred at 4pm on Main Street at Oak Street at Teutopolis Grade School. Deputies say a pickup truck driven by 31-year-old Bruce Garrard of Effingham ran off the roadway to the left and struck a tree. Teutopolis Fire Protection District firefighters had to extricate Garrard from the vehicle. Garrard was airlifted to Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana.

A passenger in the pickup truck, 29-year-old Alexander Garrard of Greenup, was not taken for treatment.
