The Effingham Public Library Board is reviewing whether to reduce Friday hours of operation.

Library Director Amanda McKay said it seems to staff members that there are few people utilizing the library later in the day on Fridays. McKay said closing earlier on Fridays could let the library use employees elsewhere during the week. They plan to survey library patrons before making any decisions.

The Board agreed to delete music CDs from their inventory due to low circulation. The CDs will be made available to other libraries in their system.

Board members also agreed to move ahead with replacing a secondary boiler unit through their service provider, KCH Mechanical, and decided to review the library's citizen participation policy to make sure adequate opportunity is being given to library patrons.
