(SHERRY HUBBARTT)

One of the suspects in the April case involving the death of a woman in Shelby County made his initial appearance on the charges Wednesday.

Thomas Miller of Decatur faces charges of concealment of homicidal death and possession of a stolen vehicle. Miller is charged in connection with the death of Sherry Hubbartt of Clarksburg.

Hubbartt's grandson, Clayton Anderson of Shelbyville, is charged with first degree murder for Hubbartt's death, as well as concealment of homicidal death and possession of a stolen vehicle.

Anderson and Miller were found on April 18th in Nevada, the day after the discovery of Hubbartt's body inside her residence. Shelby County State's Attorney Nichole Kroncke said Anderson and Miller were arrested in Nevada on unrelated charges and disposition of those cases has held up the pair's return to Illinois.

During his Wednesday court appearance, Miller asked for a reduction in the $500,000 bond set earlier. Judge Martin Siemer denied any bond reduction. Miller is next due in court on October 8.

Shelby County authorities say that Anderson is due back in Illinois "within the next few days".
