A local man was arrested over the weekend after shots were fired at his residence.
Effingham police were called at 7:01pm Saturday to the residence of 32-year-old Larry Manuel on Clayborne Court in Silver Lake Estates on the city's northeast side. The call was due to reports the homeowner was discharging a weapon in the area.
Officers, assisted by Illinois State Police, arrived on scene and established a perimeter. Manuel was outside the residence and was apprehended without incident.
No one was injured during the incident.
Manuel was arrested on counts of carrying and possessing a firearm and disorderly conduct. He was taken to Effingham County Jail, but later posted bond and was released.
