Local Drug Charges Dismissed for Man Sent to Prison on Greene County Charges

Effingham County drug charges were dismissed against a Whitehall man in exchange for a guilty plea to similar charges in Greene County.

44-year-old John F. Bishop also faced charges in Jersey County and Calhoun County. All of the counts involved possession of meth or other controlled substances.

Bishop was sentenced to two years in prison in one of the Greene County cases and three years in prison in another case. The sentences will run consecutively, not together.
