Teutopolis village board members Wednesday heard from the Teutopolis for Tomorrow Beautification Committee on ideas for beautifying the village.

Specifically, committee members are talking about placing flower pots throughout the village.

Board members said they would likely vote on the plan at their next meeting, and might allocate some funding toward the cost of the project.

The Board approved a compliance review as to the disbursement of Motor Fuel Tax funds during 2020; and passed a resolution concerning a Safe Routes to School grant. The goal is to concentrate in the area of Teutopolis Grade School.

A plat in Holman Subdivision was approved, involving purchase of a one-acre parcel as the site of a home, and voted to extend another 12 months the deadline for completion of a home on a lot in Prairie View Estates subdivision.

The Board tabled until next month a possible change in village attorneys. Bill Austin has served as village attorney in Teutopolis for more than 40 years.

The Board approved a new health insurance plan for village employees, and discussed updating computer systems and software in the Village Hall.
