A woman has been charged in Shelby County for actions alleged to have resulted in the deaths of two people.

Shelby County State's Attorney Nichole Kroncke said charges were filed Monday against 36-year-old Kylene S. Sisk of Westervelt. The charges are aggravated driving under the influence of alcohol, aggravated driving under the combined influence of alcohol and drugs, and aggravated driving under the influence of drugs.

Each charge alleges that the actions resulted in the death of two persons; 24-year-old Kacy Alday and 35-year-old Stephanie Newton, both of Assumption. The charges stem from an Illinois State Police investigation of a crash that occurred on Friday on County Road 2100 North in Shelby County.

Each charge carries a possible sentence of from six to 28 years in prison, although probation is also possible.

Sisk appeared in Shelby County Circuit Court on Monday via Zoom. Circuit Judge Michael McHaney set bond for Sisk at $2,000,000. Sisk is next due in court on September 27 for a preliminary hearing.
