Three area residents competing at today's Boston Marathon have checked in that they are unharmed after at least two explosions occurred at the finish line of the race.

Laura Link, Patti Jansen and Dr. Michael Brummer have all contacted loved ones and friends in the Effingham area that they are fine.  All three are veteran marathoners.  We've also learned that Effingham native Yale Westjohn, who was also competing in Boston, is unharmed, as is former First Christian Church Pastor Joe Briseno, who was about a mile away when the blasts occurred and was consoling others along the course.

FOX News is now reporting that two people are dead following the blasts.
