Deano Tull loves skateboarding.

He also loves to introduce others to the sport and help them grow in their skill and in their confidence.

Deano has been involved with the Effingham Park District for several years in helping the skate park at Hendelmeyer Park grow. He worked with the Park District and a design firm from St. Louis to make improvements to the skate park in recent years. That investment has paid dividends as Deano's recent 2021 "Ham City Jam" drew more than 120 contestants from the Effingham area and also from several states.

The growth of enthusiasm in skating has led Deano and others to look to grow the skate park, either at its current location or perhaps at another location at Hendelmeyer.

Greg Sapp had the chance to talk with Deano Tull about skateboarding and the chance to grow the skate park...
