072421 Power Outage

A power surge caused an interruption of electric service on the north end of Effingham Saturday evening.

Effingham City Police say they were alerted at 6:52pm of the interruption, which caused lights to flicker in some places and complete interruptions of service in others. Some businesses closed early since they had no electric service.

279 Ameren Illinois customers were affected by the outage, including the transmitter site for KJ Country 102.3.
