Altamont school board members Monday discussed end-of-year activities.

Board members heard that Prom is set for April 20; Prairie State Achievement Exam testing will take place April 23 and 24, Baccalaureate will be held May 12, 8th grade promotion will be May 16, and high school graduation will be May 18.

Altamont Superintendent Jeff Fritchtnitch reported his preliminary review of end of year finances indicated the district "may not be in the red as much as anticipated."  Fritchtnitch plans to have hard data for the Board's May meeting.

The Board met in closed session on litigation and collective bargaining, but took no action in open session.

The Altamont Board approved Art History as a dual credit class, approved an early graduation request, approved an amended calendar for this school year and a calendar for next school year, authorized Fritchtnitch to seek bids for two seven-passenger vans and for banking services, and approved boys and girls cross-country as a self-funded program for next school year.
