City Police Investigating Vehicle Burglaries

City police are investigating three motor vehicle burglaries that occured at Lonestar Steakhouse on Hampton Drive.

The incidents occurred between 10:30am and 1:43pm Wednesday.  The first vehicle owned by Francisco Martinez of Effingham had the driver's side window broken and a purse owned by Lucia Aguilar-Sanchez of Effingham was taken.  The purse was recovered at the scene.  The second vehicle owned by Jill Stigers of Teutopolis had the passenger side window broken and an undetermined amount of cash was taken.  The third vehicle owned by Jennifer Evans of Effingham had the driver's side window broken and a purse containing a checkbook and personal items was taken.

City police are also investigating a theft from a vehicle owned by Charles Cunningham of Effingham.  The theft occurred while the vehicle was parked near 30 North Lakewood between 2pm Sunday and 3pm Monday.  A wallet containing personal items and a cell phone were taken.
