The final official results of the April 6th election will not be available until later in the month, so the Teutopolis school board decided Monday night against discussing the election ballot format question, and also did not reorganize the Board.

A question about whether to elect Teutopolis school board members at large, rather than having a limit on how many board members could be elected from a Constitutional district was on the ballot in portions of the school district within Effingham County, but not those portions of the district outside of the county. That means that not all district residents had the chance to vote on the question.

In other business, the Teutopolis board agreed to participate in IESA and IHSA activities again next school year; approved coaches holding their summer sports camps; approved the extension of the high school gym scorer's table advertising contract by one year; and approved renewal of the contract with Common Goal Systems for the district's student information system.

The Board authorized Superintendent Matt Sturgeon to seek bids on various district projects; got updates on high school graduation and 8th grade promotion plans; and heard that district strategic planning with the Illinois Association of School Boards is to be scheduled.

Board members accepted resignations from Darlene Unkraut as summer custodian, Cassie Carpenter as high school boys track coach, Linda Bergfeld as junior high head cook effective May 20, Kathy Ruholl as grade school teacher aide effective May 21, and Cierra Roepke as student services assistant effective May 21.

The Board approved promoting Morgan Mette to high school head boys track coach, hired Jenna Funneman and Rachel Habing as high school assistant track co-coaches for the remainder of this track season, hired Ashley Willman as a first grade teacher, and hired Monica Kremer as high school secretary.

Board members also approved Jordan Thoele as volunteer high school baseball assistant coach, Sydney Hanfland and Madison Fear as DO student workers at the grade school for the coming school year, hired summer student workers Ashley Bressendorf and Tristen Spour, and hired summer school personnel Kelli Wells as a teacher and Jenna Funneman as a teacher aide.
