Dieterich village board members Monday heard that work is progressing in the village's Industrial Park East.

Storm sewer work is underway, and work on street installation is expected to begin next week. Water and sewer service was installed earlier.

Grant work in Liberty Memorial Park continues, and there was discussion on several items. That includes a fountain in the village park pond, and a pump track in the park north of the pond that is to be used by bicyclists. Concrete work for the pocket park was discussed, as well as work on Loda Street from Route 33 to Maple Street adjacent to Old Mac's, and safety glass for the customer windows at the village hall.

The Board voted to purchase six park benches for placement throughout Liberty Memorial Park that will be grant-funded.

The one item where no action was taken is the Community Center. The paperwork on the State grant that will pay for a majority of the project has not been received, and the advice is to wait until the paperwork is in hand before proceeding with any aspect of the project.

Dieterich board members approved a $100 donation to the Dieterich Post-Prom event, and discussed hiring summer workers, but took no action.
