Stacia Hollinshead 640

The Wisconsin man accused of fatally shooting his ex-wife, Dieterich native Stacia Hollinshead, has been sentenced to life in prison without an opportunity for release.

The life sentence for Ulisses Medina Espinosa was imposed Monday afternoon following a hearing that took much of the day to complete. The sentence also stipulates that the child of Hollinshead and Espinosa is not to have contact with Espinosa until she is an adult, and then any contact is to be at her initiative.

Espinosa pleaded guilty in Dodge County, Wisconsin Circuit Court in December to 1st-degree Intentional Homicide. He shot Hollinshead numerous times while she and their daughter were visiting Espinosa's parents in March 2019. Hollinshead filed for divorce from Espinosa in 2016 and filed for a protective order against him the same year.
