Things are going well for Cody Willenborg and CW Motorsports since the move to their new home on Keller Drive.  Willenborg credits an economic development loan received from Effingham County as one reason for the boost.

A formal check presentation was made at Tuesday's meeting of the Effingham County Economic Development Advisory Board.  The award of $30,000 was announced at the March meeting of the Effingham County Board.

Willenborg said the move to the new home, facilitated in part by the county loan fund, has led to greater awareness of the business.  He said the business is able to run much more efficiently and can accomplish much more in a week than previously.  Willenborg said he hired another employee last week and said if business continues to expand, he'll be hiring another technician.

Willenborg was also grateful to Barney Brumfiel and Mike Sullivan of the Illinois Small Business Development Center and Dan Jansen of USDA for their help on the project.  He said he is thankful for the help "and you don't have to pay for it!"

The county funds loaned CW Motorsports were part of a $99,000 grant from the State.  The county loans out the funds, which are repaid and then retained by the County to loan again to another applicant.

The Advisory Board also met Tuesday to consider other possible loan recipients, including a trucking company and a towing firm.  Job creation is a key component in obtaining the loan funds.
