Health Department Reports Two COVID-Related Deaths, Four New Positive Cases

The Effingham County Health Department Monday reported two COVID-related deaths, one of a woman in her 50s and one of a woman in her 90s.

The Department also reported four new positive cases of Coronavirus Disease; a male in his 20s, a male in his 50s, a female in her 20s, and a female in her 40s.

Illinois Region 6 rolling test positivity was 2.3% through March 25, while Effingham County increased to 4.1% for the same period.

With the ongoing increase in cases, the Effingham County Health Department would like to encourage the community to get vaccinated sooner rather than later.

The Health Department has now opened up its COVID vaccine clinics to Illinois residents aged 18 and over, and has a first dose clinic coming up tomorrow, Tuesday, March 30, from 11 to 6 that can be booked online. Go to www.effcohealth.org to find the appointment booking link. Booking closes at Midnight on Monday.

--Take the ticket to your appointment

--Complete a Consent Form- available at www.effcohealth.org

--Print, Complete (please use legal name) and Sign a Vaccine Consent Form

You will need to bring your completed consent form, your ticket, your current insurance card(s) plus photo I.D. to your appointment. Computers, Wi-Fi plus printing facilities are available at the Effingham Public Library. The library has offered to print tickets for free.
