State Reports 88 COVID-19 Deaths

The Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) reported 88 additional deaths Thursday and there were 6,652 new confirmed and probable cases of coronavirus disease.

The preliminary seven-day statewide positivity for cases as a percent of total tests from January 7–13, 2021 is 6.8%. The preliminary seven-day statewide test positivity from January 7–13, 2021 is 8.0%.

 As of Wednesday night, 3,511 in Illinois were reported to be in the hospital with COVID-19. Of those, 742 patients were in the ICU and 382 patients with COVID-19 were on ventilators.
