Just 10 New Positive COVID-19 Cases in County Tuesday

One of the smallest number of positive COVID-19 cases in some time was reported in Effingham County on Tuesday.

Just 10 new positive cases were reported.

Here are the numbers:

MALES: two in their 30s, one in his 40s, one in his 70s, and one in his 80s

FEMALES: one less than 10 years old, one in her 20s, one in her 40s, one in her 50s, and one in her 60s

Illinois Region 6 test positivity seven-day rolling average was 9.2% through January 9, and Effingham County came in at 15.5% for the same period.

The Health Department asks you to stay home if you are sick or waiting on test results. Everyone is asked to do their part in reducing the spread of COVID-19 by masking up properly, washing hands regularly, maintaining six-foot social distancing and avoiding large groups.
