Four COVID-Related Deaths Reported Thursday in Effingham County

The Illinois Department of Public Health Thursday reported four COVID-related deaths in Effingham County.

The deaths are those of a male in his 70s, a male in his 80s, a female in her 90s, and a female over 100 years old.

IDPH also reported the death of a male in his 70s in Coles County, a male in his 60s in Cumberland County, a male in his 50s in Fayette County, and a male in his 30s, a male in his 70s, and a male in his 80s in Marion County.

There were 192 COVID-related deaths reported statewide on Thursday.

A mention that some data reported to IDPH is delayed from the weekend, including this past holiday weekend.

Almost 107,000 specimens were reported in the past 24 hours by laboratories. As of last night, 5,653 people in Illinois were reported to be in the hospital with COVID-19. Of those, 1,170 patients were in the ICU and 693 patients with COVID-19 statewide were on ventilators. The preliminary seven-day statewide test positivity through December 2 is 12.3%.
