Richland County Murder Suspect in Court

Richland County murder suspect Rick Meador was in court Thursday via video for a pre-trial hearing.

Meador is charged with the shooting death of Kyle Johnson of Olney in September. 

Meador's defense counsel reported that his client is suffering from anxiety and depression. The judge directed that Meador be examined by the Richland County Health nurse.

However, Special Prosecutor David Rands requested that Meador's bond be increased from $500,000 to $1 million, and the judge granted the increase.

Meador is due back in court for another pre-trial hearing on January 7.
