A Fayette County man has been charged with soliciting and possessing child pornography.  The case against 59-year-old Thomas Scott is part of Attorney General Kwame Raoul’s ongoing work to apprehend offenders who download and trade child pornography.

Scott was charged with six counts of possession of child pornography, each a Class 2 felony punishable by up to three to seven years in prison.  The bond is set at $100,000.

Raoul’s investigators, with the assistance of the Vandalia Police Department, conducted a search of a residence on Wednesday, Nov. 18, in the 1900 block of West Randolph Street in Vandalia and arrested Scott after discovering evidence that he allegedly possessed child pornography. The Attorney General’s office will prosecute the case along with the Fayette County State’s Attorney’s office.
