Coles County also reported the death of one individual with another 55 new cases. Marion County Health Department is reported 52 new cases on Thursday and one additional death.

Illinois Region 6's rolling 7 day positivity remains at 14.3% through November 16, while Effingham County dropped slightly to 24.9% for the same period.

The Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) reported 14,612 new confirmed and probable cases of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in Illinois on Thursday with 168 additional deaths.

New COVID-19 safety mitigations went into effect across the state today.

The tier three mitigations are not a full-blown lockdown, but Illinoisans are definitely urged to stay home if possible.  The new restrictions are closing casinos, putting indoor group sports and exercise classes on hold, and limiting the number of customers in stores.  Governor JB Pritzker says he knows this is hard, but that there is a light at the end of the tunnel.

“We are close. You can see the vaccines are coming and if you can just hang on, wear your mask, keep your distance, get a flu shot, we are going to get there.”
