A local woman has been helped with the cost of her medical treatments, and she has now helped others in the same situation.

Amber Sparks is battling Lymphoma and has received treatment at the Cancer Center in Effingham. Amber wanted to earn some extra money to pay on her bill, so decided to make and sell cinnamon rolls.

During the planning and ordering process, an anonymous party stepped up and paid off Amber's bill. A grateful Amber decided to help others, so she baked and sold the rolls and generated $1,315. Half the money will go to the Cancer Center to help another single mother receiving treatment; the other half will go to EHS senior Jacob Briggerman who is beginning bone cancer treatments.

Amber said she had two people help with the baking of the rolls, and up to 30 people who contributed goods and cash to pay for the ingredients to make the rolls.

As to who helped her by paying off her bill, Amber said, "I have no idea."
