As we previously reported, Teutopolis native Gregg Lohman was injured in a motor-vehicle accident in early March. The accident, which took place in Central Kentucky, made national headlines as Lohman is the current drummer for country superstar Kellie Pickler.

Lohman was hospitalized in critical condition after his SUV was rear-ended by a tractor-trailer in the second of two accidents on I-65 on March 2nd. Six people from Wisconsin were killed in the first accident when a different tractor-trailer hit their vehicle. Two foster children from that accident survived.

Country music website The Boot said Monday, 'the trucking company involved in the accident had accumulated 17 traffic violations over two years before the mishap. Federal authorities had advised states to closely inspect its vehicles. Yet, despite the warning to states, the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration gave Highway Star Inc., a satisfactory rating based on its overall performance during that two-year span, which ended March 3, the day after the wreck.'

After the accident, Pickler tweeted, "Gregg is not just my drummer, he is family. I believe in miracles & the power of prayer, so it would mean the world to me, my band & Gregg's family if you would please keep him in your prayers."

Lohman's condition continues to improve, and he has been moved from University Hospital in Louisville, Ky to a rehab facility, where he is now walking and eating on his own.
