Late Friday night the jury returned a verdict of guilty of first degree murder in the Fayette County murder trial of David Leroy Bright.

After over four hours of deliberation, the 71 year old Mulberry Grove man was found guilty on two charges of first degree murder in the September 2017 death of James Skinner of rural Brownstown. It was determined that Skinner died of blunt force trauma.

Judge Kimberly Koester set the sentencing hearing for Bright for November 10 at 1 p.m. where he could receive up to life in prison.

Bright will be held at the Fayette County Jail until sentencing.
