A local bride has appeared on the cover of a magazine for professional photographers, and a local photographer is being recognized for the photo.

Meghann Pruemer appeared on the cover of the Shutter Up Magazine. The photo was taken at Meghann's wedding in Salem on September 12.

Shutter Up Amy Goeckner

The photographer, Amy Goeckner, submitted the photo to the magazine. Goeckner said she's had other photos published, but this is her first cover. Goeckner is owner of Amerie Photography, but also works as a nurse at Effingham Urology.

Goeckner said she never used to take wedding photographs, but said things have certainly changed. Once her photo was chosen for the magazine cover, she was asked to submit her biography and two more photos.

Goeckner's busy life is about to get busier. In addition to increasing demand for her photography services, she's headed to school with a goal of becoming a nurse practitioner.

As for the name of her business...Amerie Photography...Goeckner said it was her nickname when she was younger, the only nickname she ever remembers. Her photography business is based in her home, located south of Teutopolis.

By the way, Meghann Pruemer married Nathan Day at A Fair Barn in Salem. Congratulations to the happy couple, and to Amy.
