Local attorneys Chris Koester and Kara Wade will be arguing before the Illinois Supreme Court on Thursday in a case appropriate to this harvest time of year.

The civil case began in Effingham County Circuit Court and made its way through the Illinois appellate courts before reaching the state's high court.

Koester and Wade will present oral argument in the case of State Farm Insurance v. Elmore, a case Koester said could impact insurance coverage for Illinois grain farms across the state.

Koester will argue that policies of insurance covering farm grain trucks should cover individuals loading and unloading grain from the trucks, regardless of the machinery used to transfer the grain.

Koester, who will be making his third appearance before the state Supreme Court, expects the Court to rule on the case within three to five months.
