Mattoon Woman Arrested After Bomb Threat

A Mattoon woman was arrested Tuesday morning after a bomb threat in that community.

Mattoon city police arrested 43-year-old Angel R. Dare on a charge of felony disorderly conduct. Police report Dare was arrested at 10:30am in the 1500 block of Richmond Avenue.

Authorities allege Dare Monday anonymously phoned the McDonald's restaurant located at 103 Dettro Drive, and advised staff members she was bringing a bomb to blow up the establishment. Staff members then evacuated the restaurant. Once the scene was secured and Dare was in custody, the restaurant resumed operation.
