Altamont school board members Monday acted on some reductions in personnel for next year.

The Board accepted an irrevocable letter of retirement for Diane Heiden, and adopted a resolution to do reduction in force of six teacher/bus aides including Bonnie Lester, Anthony Camp, Brittany Simcox, Kara LaMar, Danielle Lee and Charity Higgs.

Board members also agreed to reduce District Psychologist Kathy Clausius by 15 days and to reduce Amy Ruckman to four-fifths time for next year.

In other business, the Altamont board heard that grade school enrollment is down five from last year and high school enrollment is down 12.

Altamont Superintendent Jeff Fritchtnitch reported on the latest information on State funding, or lack of it.  The governor's budget message proposes prorating general state aid to 82%, down from 89% this year.  Transportation funding would be cut to about 20% under the Governor's proposal.

Also, the Altamont board approved Bryan White as a high school volunteer assistant softball coach, and discussed Board goals for next year with possible adoption at the April meeting.  Board members also approved tenure for teachers Kevin Schultz and Ty Totten.
