One Killed, One Injured in Clark County Crash

One person was killed and another was injured in a crash in Clark County just after 10am Wednesday.

The crash happened on I-70 eastbound near Martinsville.

Illinois State Police report a semi driven by 53-year-old Enrique DeJesus of Miami, Florida, was traveling east when a car driven by 47-year-old Jennifer Jines of Kansas, Illinois merged onto the interstate. For unknown reasons, Jines lost control of the vehicle and it spun in front of the semi. The semi struck the car and pushed the car across the median.

Jines was pronounced dead at the scene by Clark County Coroner Jeff Pearce. DeJesus, the semi driver, was not injured.

I-70 westbound was reduced to one lane for approximately four hours during the crash investigation.
