1,317 New Cases of COVID-19 Reported in Illinois Friday

1,317 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 were reported in Illinois on Friday.

25 confirmed COVID-related deaths were also reported on Friday, 16 of those in Cook County.

There were just less than 33,000 specimens collected statewide in the 24-hour period ending at 2pm Friday. The percentage of positive cases statewide of total tests over the past seven days is 2.9%.

The total of positive tests, by county, since records have been kept on COVID-19 are as follows:

Effingham--31

Shelby--20

Coles--190

Cumberland--30

Jasper--47

Clay--two

Fayette--23
