Relay 2020 1

The 2020 Effingham County Relay for Life is a go, but it will certainly be a different sort of event.

Relay is set for Friday and Saturday and will be headquartered at Teutopolis Junior High School, as in past years, but that's pretty much where the similarities will end.

A virtual style Relay, necessitated by COVID-19, is planned. A Facebook Live and YouTube Live event will begin at 6pm Friday. They hope you will interact and celebrate. Feel free to comment on the Live Feed and Share with your friends to help things along. The YouTube feed is embedded below.

On Saturday, things will start at 2pm with a Survivors and Caregivers Vehicle Parade "Survivor Lap". You're asked to line up beginning at 1pm at the Teutopolis Village Park behind the Junior High School. You're encouraged to turn out to cheer the survivors as they make their annual Survivor Lap...around the village. The parade will leave the park and travel down Race Street, cross Route 40, turn left onto Elm Street, turn left onto Pearl Street, cross Route 40, and turn left onto Water Street then head back to the junior high school, where the procession will end at the Drive-Thru Luminaria.

The Drive-Thru Luminaria is then planned on the junior high school parking lot from 3 to 6pm.
