The 1,018 positive cases was countered by the number of COVID-related deaths reported statewide, which was back down to 20 Thursday, with 13 of those in Cook County.

To correct an item from Wednesday, the Effingham County Health Department reports the number of positive cases in Effingham County since statistics began being kept is at 24. We had reported a different figure.

The State reports the Coles County positive case total is now at 188, Cumberland County at 24, Jasper County at 47, Clay County still at two cases, and Fayette County at 23 cases.
