Edgewood Man Apprehended by Altamont Police Following Hit-and-Run

Altamont police arrested an Edgewood man Wednesday evening following a weekend hit-and-run incident.

29-year-old Lucas McDaniel is charged with leaving the scene of an accident after an incident early Sunday morning when a vehicle struck a fire hydrant, and the driver left the scene on foot. Altamont Police Chief Alan Heiens said McDaniel was taken into custody about 6pm Wednesday. 

McDaniel was also arrested on counts of unlawful possession of a weapon by a felon, reckless driving, driving on a revoked license, and criminal damage to property, as well as a warrant for possession of controlled substance.
