The two men charged in a series of arsons in Cumberland County were in court Thursday.

21-year-old Levi Barnes of Greenup and 23-year-old Paul McCormick of Toledo each face 19 counts of residential arson and residential burglary for a series of fires set over a period dating back to 2010.

Barnes appeared in court with his private counsel, attorney Bob Dunst of Mattoon, and McCormick was found to qualify for a public defender, with Therese Matthews of Coles County named to represent McCormick.

Barnes and McCormick are due back in court for their preliminary hearings on March 18.  Each is being held in Cumberland County Detention Center in Toledo under $1 million bond.
