Public Health Officials Announce 724 New Confirmed Cases of Coronavirus Disease in Illinois Tuesday

State public health officials announced 724 new confirmed cases of coronavirus disease in Illinois Tuesday.

Public Health also reported that 23 COVID-related deaths occurred in the 24-hour period ending at 2pm Tuesday, 11 of those in Cook County. 

No deaths were reported in any area county, and there were no new cases of coronavirus disease reported in area counties in Tuesday's update.

The preliminary seven-day statewide positivity is 2.6%. That is the percentage of tests that return positive. There were more than 31,000 tests conducted during the period.
