There were 5.4 days suitable for fieldwork in Illinois during the week ending June 28, 2020.

Statewide, the average temperature was 73.9 degrees, 0.1 degrees below normal. Precipitation averaged 1.65 inches, 0.71 inches above normal. Topsoil moisture supply was rated at 6 percent very short, 18 percent short, 66 percent adequate, and 10 percent surplus. Subsoil moisture supply was rated at 4 percent very short, 15 percent short, 69 percent adequate, and 12 percent surplus.

Corn condition was rated at 1 percent very poor, 5 percent poor, 27 percent fair, 55 percent good, and 12 percent excellent.

Soybeans emerged reached 96 percent compared to the previous year at 75 percent and the 5-year average of 91 percent. Soybeans blooming reached 10 percent compared to the 5-year average of 12 percent. Soybeans condition was rated at 1 percent very poor, 4 percent poor, 27 percent fair, 56 percent good, and 12 percent excellent.

Winter wheat harvested was at 63 percent compared to the previous year at 38 percent and the 5-year average of 63 percent. Winter wheat condition was rated 1 percent very poor, 6 percent poor, 19 percent fair, 57 percent good, and 17 percent excellent.
