An Effingham man was injured in a motorcycle crash early Thursday morning.

26-year-old Noah Williams was traveling on Althoff Avenue on Effingham's north side about a half mile east of US 45 when the crash occurred at 2:48am.  State police say Williams lost control of the cycle, which ran off the roadway and came to rest in a ditch.

Williams was taken to St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham for treatment, and then was transferred to Carle Hospital in Urbana for additional treatment.  Williams was cited for failure to reduce speed to avoid the crash, no insurance, no valid registration, and driving while his license is suspended.
