1,209 New COVID-19 Cases Reported Friday in Illinois

1,209 new cases of coronavirus disease were reported in Illinois Friday. The figures include 53 additional deaths.

33 of the deaths occurred in Cook County, including a male in his 30s and five people in their 50s. Lake County accounted for 11 of the deaths. There were three deaths reported in Will County, as well as two each in DuPage and Kankakee Counties. Deaths were also reported in Christian and Kane Counties.

Effingham County's first case from Wednesday evening is now a part of the statistics, along with the first cases in DeWitt and Jersey Counties. The numbers do not include the first case reported today in Jasper County.

Currently, the Illinois Department of Public Health is reporting a total of 8,904 cases, including 210 deaths, in 64 counties in Illinois.
