Two Cumberland County men have been arrested for allegedly starting more than 20 fires that have plagued the Greenup area in recent years.

Illinois State Police Zone 7 General Criminal Investigations Unit arrested 21-year old Levi Barnes of Greenup and 23-year old Paul McCormick of Toledo Tuesday on counts of residential arson and aggravated arson.

State Police say the two are accused of starting fires in and around the Greenup area.  Barnes and McCormick are currently being held in the Cumberland County Detention Center in Toledo.  They are yet to make their initial court appearance.

Illinois State Police, Greenup Police, the Illinois State Fire Marshal's Office and Cumberland County sheriff's deputies have worked together on the case.
