673 New Cases of Coronavirus Disease Reported in Illinois

The Illinois Department of Public Health Thursday announced 673 new cases of coronavirus disease in the state.

Seven more deaths were announced; a man in his 50s, two men and two women in their 60s, a man in his 70s, and a woman in her 90s. 

Approximately 87% of fatalities in the state so far as among patients age 60 and older.

Franklin and Tazewell counties are now reporting cases. 

Currently, IDPH is reporting a total of 2,538 cases, including 26 deaths, in 37 counties in Illinois. 

IDPH also gave a racial breakdown of those with confirmed cases in Illinois. The breakdown: 40% white, 28% black, 9% other, 4% Asian, 19% no information provided.
