An Effingham man was injured in a single-vehicle crash northwest of Teutopolis.

The crash happened at 7:22pm at the intersection of 1630th Road and 1700th Avenue.  The Effingham County Sheriff's Department reported a utility vehicle driven by 20-year-old Zachary Fleshner of Effingham ran off the roadway after Fleshner missed a right-angle curve.  The vehicle struck a culvert and overturned, landed upright, and then traveled another 80 feet before coming to a stop in a ditch.

Fleshner was injured and was taken to St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham for treatment.

Teutopolis firefighters were called to the scene and used the Jaws of Life to take the driver's door off the vehicle to free Fleshner.
