Four vehicles were involved in a crash in Watson Township Tuesday morning.

The crash happened at 7:44am on US Route 45, just north of 875th Road on the south edge of Heartville.

Effingham County Sheriff's Department reports all four vehicles were traveling northbound on the highway. Vehicles driven by 67-year-old Rose Pritchard of Louisville, 23-year-old Garrat McCullough of Lawrenceville and 49-year-old Robbie Hunt of Flora were slowing or stopped in traffic. A vehicle driven by 54-year-old Glenda Cooper of Flora struck Pritchard's vehicle from behind, causing Pritchard to strike McCullough's vehicle, and McCullough to strike Hunt's vehicle.

Cooper and Pritchard were both injured and were transported to HSHS St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham.

Cooper was cited for operating an uninsured motor vehicle and failure to reduce speed to avoid the crash.
