An Altamont resident originally arrested on a home invasion charge has pleaded guilty to criminal damage to property.

The charge to which 24-year-old Jesse Tucker pleaded guilty is a Class 4 felony, punishable by up to one to three years in prison. Tucker was instead placed on two years probation including 180 days in jail. Tucker was given credit for 122 days served while awaiting disposition of his case, and he must make restitution for damage done during the incident.

Tucker had been arrested by Effingham City Police in July for an alleged forced entry into a residence in Lakewood Manor Mobile Home Park. Damage was done inside the residence.

Tucker also allegedly struck an occupant of the residence, with whom he once had a relationship. The person did not seek medical attention.

The home invasion count was a Class X felony, punishable by mandatory prison time.
