Altamont Man Injured in Thursday Morning Crash

An Altamont man was injured in a Thursday morning crash.

52-year-old Andy Voelker was northbound on Illinois Route 128, about a mile south of Moccasin Road, when a deer ran onto the highway into the path of Voelker's vehicle. The vehicle struck the deer, then spun around to the right striking an embankment, and came to a stop on the highway.

Voelker was transported to HSHS St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham.

The crash happened at 6:35am. No citations were issued.
