Fayette County Board members are discussing reducing the number of members on the board.

Currently, there are seven board districts in Fayette County, with two members elected from each district. The Board has discussed seeking a reduction to just one member per district, or a seven-member board.

The matter would be decided by the voters in the form of a referendum. If the Board wants to have a referendum on the issue on the March 2020 primary election ballot, they need to decide at their December board meeting to move ahead with the proposal.
