Two people were injured Tuesday in a crash in Fayette County.

State police say the crash happened just before 3pm on Illinois Route 185 at Fayette County Road 40 East. Units driven by 18-year-old William Boyce of Chatham and 39-year-old Brandy Renee McCormick of Greenville were both traveling westbound on the highway. McCormick slowed for icy road conditions and was struck from behind by the Boyce unit.

Both Boyce and a 17-year-old male passenger from Chatham were injured and were taken to Fayette County Hospital in Vandalia.

Boyce was cited for failure to reduce speed to avoid the crash.
