Two Crashes w/Injuries in Effingham Monday

City police investigated two crashes involving injuries Monday, both occurring during the noon hour.

One crash happened at 4th and Santa Monica at 12:42pm. 

Police report 26-year-old Anthony Finney of Effingham lost control of his vehicle and it slid off the ice-covered roadway, then struck a culvert.

Finney was injured, but refused treatment. He was cited for driving on a suspended license and operating an uninsured motor vehicle.

The other crash occurred at 12:55pm, west of the intersection of Evergreen and Keller.

Police report a semi driven by 46-year-old Clifton Wells of Bakersfield, California struck a vehicle driven by 36-year-old Jason Williams of Effingham.

Williams was injured, but refused treatment. No citations were issued.
